Animal magnetism

Insects love me. LOVE me. I can be standing in a yard with five other people and be the only one getting eaten alive by mosquitos. It's always been like this. At my first golf lesson, I got covered in these tiny, tiny, TINY little gnats. They looked like miniscule tan specks. My arms were itching, my shirt was covered in them. Ick. Noone else was even remotely bothered by them. My instructor didn't have any on him. They were all on me...all over me. Ick. Bug repellant is part of my pre-golf routine now.

So this morning the bugs weren't on me. Whether it was the bug repellant or the cool weather, the bugs have been leaving me alone.

Except that when we got back in the golf cart to head back to the club house, about a minute into the ride, I felt a sharp pain in my right leg, at the top of my thigh underneath.

I looked down and there it was, falling away from under my leg, inbetween the seat and the cart. A bee. I guess I sat on it.

Ooooow. I haven't been stung by a bee since I was around 12. It wasn't the WORST pain in the world, but it was pretty uncomfortable. It hurt more several minutes after the sting than immediately after. Still hurts. I know it isn't the bee's fault that I apparently sat on her, but I'm still pretty ticked about it. :-( I put benadryl on it and hope it gets better before my workout this afternoon. It stung me through jean capris, so I guess it could have been a worse sting than it is.

Damn bee.

Speaking of my workout, I didn't sleep well last night, as huge storms rolled through in the wee hours and at 3am rain was coming down in sheets. So even though I generally avoid naps like the plague, I think I might need one before my PT gets a hold of me. Off to try to nap.....
