Spent a nice weekend at home

but man, am I tired! 14 people is a lot of people to cook and clean for and since I am the only one who helps out in the kitchen at my parents' house with any sort of regularity, that meant a lot of cooking and cleaning. I did finally remind one of my brothers that my parents' house is NOT a bed and breakfast and that I would like for him to help out...especially when I am not around, as I get the impression that when I am not around, my 70+ year old parents are on their own cooking and cleaning for all these people in their house. My other brother that was there was sick, so I didn't harrass him much, but I did ask him to help Saturday night before he started feeling bad.

Much fun was had by all, and now I regret gifting away a beautiful egg-coloring border I received in a swap a year or so ago. Egg coloring isn't part of our normal lives, so I didn't think I'd have a use for it anytime soon.

The girls got along great this weekend....they are such a perfect age to hang out together...10, 8, and 8. John Robert played and watched a lot of golf, Peter gave the Energizer bunny a run for his money, and Abigail hung around my neck at every available opportunity. I'm afraid Brenda will pay a price for me holding Abigail most of the weekend...but hey, spoiling is what aunts are for.

Corey got subjected to his first Easter vigil on TV Saturday night. Possibly the most boring thing he's ever been subjected to...even worse for him that the second LOTR movie, LOL! But the running commentary in the room was entertaining. Watching services on TV is still weird to him....especially something that goes on for three hours. Of course, watching it on TV does not substitute for the obligation of active participation, to every child's chagrin, but it can be entertaining in its own way. I don't believe in that stuff anymore, but Mass was such a big part of my life growing up that hearing one again is like finding an old dearly loved stuffed animal. I enjoyed the Masses televised for Pope JPII's funeral for the same reason.

I'll try to upload photos later....right now I'd better go eat and get ready for my Monday morning workout.
