We've been looking at houses again. We've been looking off and on for the last couple of years, since we got back from Holland. We like our house, but there is almost no closet space and we are a bit cramped.
We saw the perfect house today. It is two story, and we have mostly been looking at one stories, but since the bedrooms are all upstairs, it would still work really well with small children. The colors in the house are perfect....we wouldn't have to change a single thing. Pale green paint throughout most of the downstairs that would perfectly match our furnishings. Beautiful spacious kitchen with an island and nice working arrangement. Double ovens. Formal dining room and a separate study with French doors. Hardwoods downstairs...and they just had a little leak near the fridge, so insurance is about to help them put completely new hardwoods in. !!!! No built-ins in the living room to interfere with our big TV. The backyard includes part of a creek....great sandy area already in place with a swingset, plus a grassy area and HUGE trees in the back. Lots of filtered light. GREAT ambience and privacy in back. Washing machine upstairs with the bedrooms and playroom and even an extra little closet that has a window that the man of the house currently uses as his study. One bedroom right next to the huge master suite...great for a nursery....other two bedrooms are on the other side of the game room. Three car garage. Did I mention this was the perfect house? The only thing not perfectly perfect about it is the price. A bit more than we've been thinking of spending (and we'd get nailed pretty hard with property taxes). But we do know you have to pay for ambience around here. It is on a very quiet cul de sac that is basically its own neighborhood, so there isn't a huge neighborhood right there for kids to play in, BUT the end of the cul de sac is a creek and beginning of a biking/walking trail that winds around to a larger neighborhood nearby.
Sigh...I don't imagine this house will stay on the market long...
