So Corey and I booked a last minute trip to Chicago and the taxi is due in 30 minutes. Corey is due then, too. I expect he will come flying in just after the taxi arrives, like he did last time. Yesterday heavy storms killed the power at his office and put him behind for leaving today. when i went to bed at 4:30, he was getting up for an early start, not that that timing is very unusual for him.
WHY was I up until 4:30am? Well, it isn't unheard of for me...but the biggest reason is that I wanted to get a new project on the needles before we left today. Cuz apparently the pair of socks, the sweater, and the baby dress aren't enough. The sweater isn't that portable...or at least, I don't want to work on it ont he go and I need to do some measuring of Corey, which I can't do on the plane. And the baby dress...I am giving myself a break from that thick cotton yarn that kills my hands and in any case, I think I will hold off a bit on doing the front of the dress as motivation to finish the front of Corey's sweater first.
So last night I cast on this: Moebius scarf
It's definitely weird. I am using that gorgeous Shaefffer yarn I got a while ago. It finally spoke to me and it said it wanted to be a basketweave Moebius, so I am giving it a go, although I am pretty sure my basketweave Moebius will have a garter ridge through the middle. But I don't care. I couldn't do this whole thing garter stitch or I'd die of boredom. I cast on 170 stitches, so knitting the Moebius means 340 stitches per row.
Okay, gotta run. Need to print off confirmations. The Husband is in the car headed home.
