My sweet baby girls

I just watched a video on the blog of my friend's daughter. A video of a very cute kitten playing with a feather ona stick. Not terribly exciting in the grand scheme of things, but I liked it. It made me think of my baby girls, Rufus and Skeeter. Gosh, I loved those cats. I love my husband more, though, and since he is allergic, they had to go in favor of him. They went to a coworker who also turned out to be allergic and then to a nice family with two little girls who renamed them Rosie and Lil. Don't know how effective that was...they had been Rufus and Skeeter for some five years before they were renamed. That was ten years ago. I doubt they are still alive now but I guess it could be possible. I'm quite sure that if one goes the other will soon follow. They were litter mates and extremely attached to each other.

Corey saw an article on CNN about these hypoallergenic cats earlier this year. He looked into them. If I had pushed, he may have even forked over the $4,000 for one, as he knows I miss having a pet around, especially when he is gone like he is now. But $4,000 is a lot for a cat. Maybe someday they will be a more reasonable price and I can feel sandpaper kisses and the vibrations of purring contentment again....

Awww, your kitties are cute.

Yes, Tabi is very fond of playing loop the loop for the feather on a stick. Mom keeps sending her (sometimes noisy) gifts like the feather on a stick that she likes to drag all over the house.

Hmmm, maybe I had better choose men carefully. "Oh, I'm sorry, I don't date men with cat allergies..." ;) I suppose husbands do trump kitties though...

Liz, I never once considered marrying a man with cat allergies...if I dated a guy who didn't like cats, it never lasted long...but the month after I met Corey I knew I would marry him. Wasn't much I could do about it. He liked my babies, just couldn't be around them. Giving them up was very hard, but giving him up wasn't even a possibility. :)
