Damn plumbing

So I was going to post photos of my new faucet, matching soap dispenser, disposal, and under-sink plumbing.

Faucet went fine. Soap dispenser was a problem. The hole in the granite is just a hair too close to the sink, so underneath it all, the edge of the sink that is stuck up under the granite is just barely in the way of tightening the soap dispenser down. I got out the Dremmel and tried to grind off a bit of the edge of the sink to get the flange over it, but was only moderately successful and it is on pretty tight now, but it isn't as tight as it could be. At least I know it probably won't loosen much on its own...can't get back over the edge of the sink without serious effort. The soap dispenser has to be how it is going to be when we put the disposal in, because it is basically inaccessible when the disposal is in and those aren't any fun to move around.

So I finally get to the point of screwing in the disposal and get Corey down to hold the thing up for me while I screw it in and find out that it is too big. Hmmph. I will have to return it and get the compact version. The waste drain pipe is in the way and that can't be moved. I can unwire the disposal and put it back the way it was, but now I have to go uninstall the drain assembly and get the plumber's putty off of it. Good thing Plumber's putty doesn't dry....

And you really shouldn't, when you come home tired after a Saturday of quilt assembly, fill up the dishwasher and turn it on. Not when your plumbing under the sink isn't hooked up. We ran the fan all day yesterday 24 hours trying to dry up the cabinet under the sink....

I lost my Fantasy match-up this weekend, but the real heartbreak was watching the 'Boys lose to the 'Skins.
