Sold the house!!!

We have a contract on the house. Hope it all goes through. They offered us full asking price and asked for the fridge. Which is fine by us, as the fridge won't work in the new house and we don't need or want two fridges. We were going to offer to sell it to whoever bought the house anyway.

Hope it all goes through. Fingers are firmly crossed.

I've been doing a whole lotta nothing. I actually feel fine, but Corey wants me to rest for a full two weeks and not risk relapsing or getting some sort of complication. I can do that. Although it does get a little dull. But I have finished the Slightly Obnoxious Socks and started another pair last night, the Jaywalker pattern my friend Veronica sent me. Here are the completed Six Sox Color Blox socks. They are intended to be done from bits and pieces of scraps, but I didn't have enough scraps that would even remotely work well together, so I used the striped yarn.

I can't say that these are my favorite socks. The yarn is fun and I like it fine...it's just the pattern I'm not crazy about. And the pattern is even okay (well, the actual written pattern was a mess...but the sock is okay). It's the heels. I didn't modify them from the suggested pattern and so I guess they are supposed to be this way. They are a bit deep for me. I've never had that trouble before. Knitting from the toe-up, I did a different heel flap than I'd ever done before and I'm not crazy about it. I'd like to go in and pick up stitches and get rid of the heel flap all together. See how it bunches up under my heel if I don't pull it up tight? I guess maybe it should have been wider or something. Not sure what would have made it better. I've seen photos of other people's socks with this pattern and some of their heels look like they bunch like this, too, so I don't think I really did anything wrong. Just a screwy heel pattern. I think it would fit just about fine if I somehow eliminated the heel flap altogether...maybe picked up stitches all the way around it and pulled them all in together with a few rows. But you can't just cut out the bunchy part. Knitting doesn't work that way..... I may just have to wash them and hope it works itself out...and then make sure I pull them up good before wearing them. But I doubt these will get worn with my boots...seems like the bunching under my heel would be a problem there. Maybe with tighter tennies that hold the socks in place....that way you can see the funky yarn anyway....

Hmmm - that heel does look weird. I wouldn't be happy with that either. I am guessing you won't be using that pattern again.

I am still working on my toe-up socks. I am almost finished sock one - I could actually bind off now - but I want to keep going so I end at about the right point in the striping to start the second sock - you know, so the stripes match on both socks.
