Hmmph

So tomorrow after I get yet another moving quote, I'm off to the LYS. That's "local yarn store" for you non-yarn-ho's. I'm going to plop myself down with some pattern books, feel up some yarn, and do some research. I think I've done about all I can do on the 'net. I know this store carries some Jo Sharp books, Veronica, so I will definitely check them out.

I think I just need to find a pattern that will work with a cotton or linen blend yarn and will not be so close fitting. I am still eyeing that green silk blend from KnitPicks. I love the color. Maybe I'll make a shrug or something for ME out of it. :D

BTW, I apparently have approx. 9,000 lbs of belongings excluding the fridge, it will take approx. 7.5 hours for 4 men to move us, and I think I am in complete denial over the fact that the move is now less than three weeks away. Why I have chosen this particular time to concentrate on Corey's sweater is beyond me. But I have his "permission" to sit on my ass for another week, so I might as well do it. I think he wants me to be strong and hearty for after the move and getting the new house in order, LOL!

I worked on my Jaywalkers today while getting Corey's car inspected (he's 3 months past due...I swear... that man can be SO UTTERLY responsible and yet never gets his inspection done until he gets a ticket for it, and he told me his inspection was past due as he drove into the airport yesterday). The yarn is Knit Picks Sock Garden in Daffodil. Knit Picks yarn is ridiculously low priced anyway (they go straight to the mills instead of through a distributor) and this stuff was on sale, so it was a real steal. I think I paid something like $1.50 for each skein. These are my first pure merimo wool socks and they feel marvelous in my hands...bet they will feel great on my feet, even if they do require hand washing. I think Knit Picks completely discontinued this color and combined Sock Garden with Sock Landscape and created the Sock Memories line. These Daffodil colors are very 70's and very summery to me and the stripes totally work with this pattern. Glad I snapped up this yarn! If you knit and haven't checked out Knit Picks, you need to. They don't ship overseas, I don't think, but Veronica, I'll send some to you if you want, LOL!

I need to get excited about scrapping again. I have two border swaps due this month. I hope to get at least one done Saturday at Vicki's house.

I think you'll like Jo Sharp's patterns - I have knitted three or four sweaters from her books and they are faves!
