You knew that wouldn't take very long

Last week I gave in and broke out the yarn and started a little cardigan for a 2-3 year old boy in a deep red with black and grey stripes. I started the sleeves Sunday night. I may very well finish that at some point, but last night I broke out the pink yarn and after an hour of agonizing over which pattern to start and which yarn to use, I started a little 6 month sized Matinee Coat. The yarn I am using is some I picked up at a sale last year in Austin when we went down to see Franklin and sit for the 1,000 Knitters shoot.
Today I took the Little One's info to the international adoption doctor in Denton and then went by the Woolie Ewe to pick up a ball of yarn I needed to get. This was not a good time to put me in a yarn store. Ahem. I came out with some patterns and pink and purple yarns. Most of the patterns I have are for toddlers, 1-3 years...and the Little One is very little...3-6 month size...so of course I needed some new patterns. I also don't have much in the way of DK weight yarn, and that is what most baby patterns call for.
Ironically, I just sold off a large stash of pale pink yarn. I received the payment last week and was headed out the door to mail it when the agency called yesterday. I completed the transaction. I can buy more pink yarn. I also am mid-transaction on some hot pink fingering weight cotton I promised to a buyer on Ravelry. I'm okay with sellling it. I don't know how patient I will be with fingering weight and if I need to, I can always buy more.

Knitting is just the thing to keep your fingers busy while you wait for more news :) I love the colour and the jacket will be just lovely. I made one similar years ago for my niece.
