I am not a crimnal part I-lost-count

I'm trying hard to stay awake right now. We got to bed very late and as soon as I woke this morning, I couldn't go back to sleep. I still get tired easily. I think it is the surgery. My stamina isn't what it used to be, which ought to make this upcoming trip really interesting.

So today I wrote a long e-mail of questions and gave our flight info to our agency. And I got C to agree to nail down the crisp $100 bills we need. One less thing for me to worry about.

Then I dropped off the paperwork we need at the doctor's office, speaking directly to Abby. I really need to get her something. Apparently she has to type up all this crap herself, and I empathized, having had to type up letters with notary statements on them for other people to sign. And she doesn't even get a baby at the end of it. But she is very sweet about it and has pledged to do her best to get it all to me by Thursday.

Then I went to Office Depot to get a ruled notebook for taking the notes we will need to take at the baby home. And a presentation folder to hold the copy of our dossier we are supposed to carry with us. I don't want to punch holes in anything, but I want it together and organized.

Then I went next door to Target and got money belts, but they didn't have good passport holder/neck safes, so I didn't get those there. I did pick up a few outfits. Two sleepers...3 month and 6 month to try on our little one to see where she really is on the US clothing scale. I also got one rattle/toy there.

Then I went to the police station and picked up our updated police clearances and realized I forgot to request two copies for each of us so I had to do that and now I hope they get them done by Thursday.

Then I went to a luggage outlet I once got C's hanging bag repaired at that I knew sold around the neck passport/money holders. I got C the fancy one with extra pockets for everything. I wasn't sure how stiff it would be, so I got myself a satin one that doesn't hold as much, but will work for me. I've got more curves to work around when wearing the thing, so I wanted to make sure mine is flexible.

Then I went to Babies 'R' Us and got another outfit to try on her. A Carter's one to test out their sizing on her. And Carter's was buy one get one half off. And of course at Target and Babies 'R' us I got a couple of other little outfits for her. It was hard not to go whole hog, but we need to wait until after this first trip before we really start buying her things.

I also got a few little toys to take with us to play with her at the baby home. It is customary to leave the toys there, so I didn't want to get the super expensive ones, and of course these need to all fit in our suitcases,so I'm trying to be judicious about what we take....we want a few different types of toys to see where she is developmentally. I guess I'll hit Target or Walmart later this week.

Then I went to "It's a Party" around the corner from my house. I thought it was going to be a party supply store...it's really a little boutique with stationery and gifts and knick knacks and such. But I was able to get some plain old balloons I've been needing. And they were on sale to boot.

Then I went to Tom Thumb for lunch meat and some sushi for a late lunch today. This isn't going to be a week where I cook a lot. Not least because yesterday I sealed the granite on our main countertop around the sink and I am determined to let it sit for 48 hours before using.

Then I came home and ate the sushi and started a packing list. Then I threw the moebius bag I knit six months ago into the washer to felt and now I need to go blow up a balloon to help shape it when it comes out. i want it for the class I am teaching Saturday. I also have a moebius-rimmed bowl to felt.
