Mr. Oliver

Okay, so after trekking around the county records building and locating the correct records department and waiting 45 minutes for the asst. manager to return from lunch, Mr. Oliver of the recording division made me very happy. He's done this before (I knew someone had to have done this before). He couldn't do it today, but I don't care about that. I should have copies in my hands soon after I return from my uncle's. Good man, that Mr. Oliver.

I then drove to the DMV to renew my driver's license since it is expiring a week from today. My old picture seriously looks nothing like me now (and, surprisingly, that almost caused problems once when I got carded a couple of years ago) so I wanted a new photo. I got in line, pulled out my sock knitting, and the lady in front of me turned around, took a good look, then said, "Why didn't I think of that?" and then she pulled a ball of yarn and the cuff of a sock out of her bag. We had a nice chat about knitting socks, bamboo yarn, and knitting on planes while we waited. She had an accent that I think was either British or German speaking British English....sometimes it is hard for me to nail down whether someone is truly British or learned English with a British accent because there are so many accent variations within the British Commonwealth.

I then went and got the valve stems on my tires replaced per the letter I received a week or two ago and got my tires rotated.

And I heard from the psychologist. Three sessions to verify we are not crazy, won't beat our children, and understand about adoption issues. $585. I don't know whether to just bite or try to comparison shop. He's awfully conveniently located and has done this before, so I'm tempted to just make the appointments.

So much done today! Yea!
