So I spent the last several hours searching and debating airline routes. Decided to take Singapore Airlines through Houston, partially because I kow there are good seats available. Waited at least 30 minutes on hold with them to ask a question about booking, and wanted to book on-line, but they couldn't give me the internet rate, so I started booking on-line and had a question about booking N, so I called again and waited another 30 minutes on hold (they need more employees) and that lady told us it would cost $500 for me to hold my baby in my lap one-way unless I book her itinerary through the Moscow office. We think this woman was smoking crack, but she was adamant and I am not inclined to wait another 30 minutes on hold to ask another Singapore person.
With American I can add her to my itinerary one way before I leave home and with no charge but the taxes but after the 28th, American no longer flies direct to Moscow, so I also need to clarify it with the connecting airline I would use, which is probably British Midlands but they don't have a 24 hour line, so I will have to wait until tomorrow morning and in the mean time seats are filling on flights and I had better not get squeezed between two strangers on a 9 hour flight. Seriously. I can probably get the bulkhead with N on the way home, but on the way there I am on my own.
Sigh. I think I've been at this for 3 hours or so and I don't have a flight to show for it. i'll go tackle the hotel reservations. That's got to be easier....
C just got on hold with Singapore again.
Have I mentioned that I have a cold? Maybe picked it up from N, since she was congested and sniffly. Or it could be from one of the seven flights I was on last week. No fever, which is good. The Russians will quarantine me if I arrive with a fever and who wants to travel 20 hours with one anyway? They used a sort of ray gun on us last week when we landed in Moscow...pointed it at everyone to see if anyone was running a fever. I've been drinking orange juice like crazy and tomorrow I will make it out to a store where I can pick up some C Monster and maybe some vitamin D, since that is what everyone is telling me to take. And some echinacea tea or something. I'll try anything at this point....it isn't too bad, but this congestion may get worse before it gets better.

I know it's costly but can you book N in her own seat?
As for the cold...the last time i had one, (along with fluid in the ear), the doc had me taking Mucinex D...it worked well in battling the congestion.

hope you are still making progress. Its going around here too. Starts with a sore throat. We are taking emergen C. A powder you mix in water several times a day with LOTS of vitamins and immune helpers. Might be worth a try. My oldest son swears by it. get as much rest as you can.... congrats again!
I second the Mucinex D recommendation, and despite the recall fears the Zicam mouth spray works wonders for me.
And try to sleep, you know, a little. ;)
Congrats, Sherilyn. I bet you guys are so excited!
Just pop a couple of Tylenol before you land ... no fever that way. :)
