If we don't get the 13th, we will have to wait until at least September 10th because the judge will be on vacation. The hold up is that they finally got the letter they were waiting for from N's grandmother in Uzbekistan, but it wasn't notarized, or whatever the Uzbek equivalent of a notary is. So they are trying again.
I'm barely hanging in there, y'all. Seriously. We haven't seen her since April 30th. I've asked for an update on her. Hopefully that will come by early next week.
In the meantime, let's look at baby knitting, shall we?
This is a little jacket called Boheme.
It is knit with Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran from my stash. The bottom edging is Berocco Comfort because I ran out of black Cashmerino. The chest is 20", so N will grow into it soon. I modified the sleeves by adding a picot edging to match the bottom. The buttons are awesome...got them from JoAnn's and sewed them on within an inch of their life. They are a clear acrylic with pressed flowers in them...or at least, that is the way they are made to look. this was easy knitting and I worked on it on the plane on the way to and from the Bar Mitzvah earlier this month.

This is what I call the Little Red Dress. The pattern is Knitted Dress from Easy Baby Knits. I have not measured the chest, but based on the length, this may fit her when she is 6 or 7. or 9. It is large I was aiming for 12 months, LOL! My gauge has really loosened up and even though I went down two needle sizes, this still turned out huge, btu I guess too big is better than too small. It is knit out of Knit Picks Swish. This yarn was about 3/4 of the way to becoming a little striped boy sweater with some grey added in the weeekend before we received our referral in April. Then we got the phone call and it went into the UFO pile. Per the BSG knit game I am in on Ravelry, I frogged the sweater and reknit the yarn as part of the Resurrection mission. the buttons are red lady bugs I got from Jo Ann's.
We began our draft for this year's fantasy football league last night. I swear, on one level I enjoy being in the league and at least having some contact with cousins across the country, and it is more fun now that C is in it too, but on the other hand, The Misogynist (my cousin Geoff) has started up the year again with his anti-women shit. Same song, fourth verse....or is it fifth? I forget how many years I have been in this league.
I can't help it that his wife left him for the next door neighbor or whatever the hell happened. I think this year I'll just refrain altogether from responding to his rants. It's just sucking any joy I might have gained by being in the cousins league and I don't understand why he thinks this is the way to behave. It's all he ever rants about and it's just OLD. The novelty of having a woman in the league should have worn off by now. If he wants to pick apart my draft choices, he can go right ahead, but I can't and don't want to change the fact that I pee sitting down. Pick on Joe for taking brees with the second pick, already....but STFU with the women-hate.
I'll give it one more season. If he can't find anything more interesting to rag about than how women don't belong anywhere near the game of football, I'm going to join one of the Ravelry leagues next year or start my own or something. I'd drop out now since he started this shit again last night and join another league that will be forming soon, one where the conversations will likely be more stimulating than OMG, WOMEN SUCK! but that would screw over the rest of the league and although I think those guys could put a little effort into putting down the rabid dog in their midst, I don't want to leave them hanging when we have started the draft. We live cross country, so we draft by e-mail 2-3 times a week and it takes us a while to get through it all. I'll follow through this year, but if Geoff doesn't STFU, this is my last year in. I don't even enjoy it at all anymore except competing with C and my brother.

I am so sorry that they have postponed the date...again. I have no idea how you are handling this. Seriously, I think I would already be in the loony bin!
Hugs and prayers. LMK if you want me to contact my SIL's brother to see how long it was before they brought their sons home from Russia.

Oh, no, no, no! I do hope you get the court date before she goes on vacation.
The sweater and dress are beautiful. I can't wait to see your daughter modeling them.
I encountered my own postponement today, but not nearly as aggravating as yours.
