Sigh

My matchup ended early today. At approximately 12:15 this morning, 15 minutes into the first game of his season, Brady took a hit that is rumored to have torn his ACL...a season ending injury. Of course, Belichick is in full national security mode and hasn't released anything official, but that fact that it is "very bad" and "season ending" has been leaked. I'm going to have to go hunt through the dregs of QB's leftover from the draft to figure out who I am going to take.

Since my QB got me a whopping 5 points before he went out, I knew immediately that my hopes of victory today were more or less shot to hell. We use Yahoo for our league and the Stattracker feature provides immediate updates to our scores in real time as well as detailed info about games we aren't seeing on TV. My opponent, Tony, is having a fantastic day and will probably get far and above the most points of the day. Even if Brady had been on fire, I don't think I could have won. Most of Tony's players had stellar days.

I did end up playing Selvin Young rather than Thomas Jones, and Young plays tomorrow night, but he isn't going to get me the 70-80 points I'd need to win. Tony isn't even done yet. He has GB's defense tomorrow night.

The Boys won, which was good. So at least the day wasn't a total loss.

And C went off to the office for a conference call with China that he started a few minutes ago. He's hoping to be back to see the end of the Indy game, since he's got Peyton at QB.

Thing is, today is our anniversary and it took 12 years, but apparently C has finally forgotten our anniversary. Granted, we usually go out to dinner and we didn't today because of football and work, and I didn't make plans for last night (or mention anything all week) because I knew the NIN meeting would leave me exhausted and ready to prop my feet up. Sometimes we take a trip on a weekend close to our anniversary, sometimes not. But he always brings me roses on our anniversary and so far today, nothing. I think I'll wait and see if it ever clicks with him...maybe in a day or two I'll say something. Who knows, maybe he will come home from work with roses tonight (he usually buys them at the grocery store), but I'm not getting my hopes up. I don't really resent him forgetting as much as I'm just surprised, since he never has.

((HUGS))

I heard the news about Brady this morning and you are the first person I thought of. Not "poor BradY" not, "Oh no, now what will the Patriots do?" But "Uggh! That sucks for Sherilyn!!!"

Did C end up remembering your anniversary? :(

BTW, Congratulations on 12 years!!!
