I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it.
Yesterday I Fed Ex'ed our adoption contract and check to our Russia agency and got a call from the director just now. He is hoping we will have a referral we are comfortable with by the end of this year. It could be longer, but he's hoping to give us options for a referral by the end of this year.
Now, it would still be several months before we finish the process and bring home our child, but still. A referral? This year?
China has so warped our expectations on wait time that I don't even know how to process this information. We have been at this adoption thing since February 2007. For us to finally be close to having a child is just...well, I don't know what it is. It's overwhelming and exciting and scary.
