So he has eight gold medals...

but can he knit a sweater in 17 days?

Okay, so I am sure that given the training he could do it...and try as I might, I could never achieve half what he has. But I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with this sweater. I haven't even been knitting an extraordinary amount of time every day.
I like watching all sorts of Olympic sports, but I must say that I will miss the views I've enjoyed all week as I work toward my own gold medal goal:

Seriously, ladies, have we been spoiled for a week or what?

The sweater is flying along...I bound off the bottom edge during the medley last night...well, before and after the medley...the race had my full attention. This yarn is fabulous. I love the coloring...the way it mottles without striping. The color itself. It is light enough to really show the cables. I've heard this yarn pills, but I don't care. I love it. This isn't the best photo of the yarn, but once I finish, this will get the full photo treatment.

The cables were easy to work without a needle so that went fast. I started the left sleeve last night. I have the sleeves left to do and the button band. I saw a modified button band on Ravelry, so I may do one like it. It looked like it had the cable rib instead of regular 2x2 and hers was wider to accomodate fit issues she had. I kind of liked her wider look...and I want my button band to cross over more than in the pattern photos because a split like that over my tummy won't flatter it. I've also seen mods where the knitters placed more buttons down the band. I may do that. Not sure. I just don't need anything that looks like I can't close it over my belly. I also need to lose the belly...but that's a whole different issue.

I've done a couple of minor mods on this sweater...I worked the cable rib in the same size needle as the stockinette rather than going down a size, and I made the sweater longer. I don't do cropped and I am long-waisted, so I made it longer and after four inches of cabling, I went up one needle size to accomodate my hips.
