Intermission

So I've made good progress on Mr. Greenjeans. Photos wouldn't look like much, so I don't have any yet. I am down to a few inches below the bust and am extending a bit for my long waist...then I will begin the cable pattern. I didn't get much knitting done this last weekend. between cleaning for the homestudy, doing the homestudy, and then going to see Jersey Boys Sunday night, I didn't get much knitting in.

BTW, Jersey Boys was awesome. It tells the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and is a bit like a concert with a compelling story in it. It helped that C scored some excellent seats (7th row, dead center), but it would have been great wherever we were.

So here is an Olympic intermission...the scarf I knit for my HSS secret pal. HSS is the scrapping board I post on...I've known most of these ladies many years and it is a cozy little board on which we share our lives. My sister was Kim in NC, who is also a knitter. She didn't need scrapbooking stuff, so I got her lots of knitting items. We did the exchange every month for six months and I had to be careful, as my Texas return address would have given me away. So I ordered herlittle gifts off Etsy until the last month when I was finally able to send all the things I picked up in person and the scarf I knit her. With six months to plan, I had plenty of time to knit the scarf...it went pretty quickly.

I used sock yarn...Fleece Artist in Seastorm and Lone Star Arts in Mermaid. Kim likes lime green and blues and greens, so the color combo was perfect for her. I did the Chevron Scarf out of Last Minute Knitted Gifts (although this is in the not-exactly-last-minute section). It was a super easy pattern...only one row to memorize.

I had to keep this under wraps until I sent it...she has it and now I can share.
I think it blocked out to more than 6 feet. I didn't block it hard, just soaked it and laid it flat to dry.
