Let the games begin!
I am entered into the Sweater Sprint event of the Ravelympics on Ravelry. Team Woolie Ewe. the idea is to choose a project that would be a challenge to complete during the 17 days of the Olympics. I have chosen Mr. Greenjeans. I can't cast on until 7am tomorrow morning (8pm China time...the start of the opening ceremonies in China). In order to win gold, I have to finish the sweater by the time the ceremonies wrap up in China, China-time.
I don't know how long this will take...I don't know how much knitting time I will have. I know Sunday will be short on knitting time since we have a home study visit scheduled that day and a musical to attend that night. Saturday my pre-home study panic should set in and I will be cleaning and organizing at least for a while. I won't be awake at 7 am, but as soon as I wake up tomorow, I will hit the ground running on my sprint for the finish line. I trained last night with my swatching, which I soaked this morning and laid flat to dry this afternoon. I am surprised how fast the mmmmMalabrigo has dried, but then, I've had a ceiling fan on high right over it all day. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, but we all know how I feel about working out....
In case I prove to be a faster sprinter than I think I will be, I am also prepared to test knit my friend Kristina's new shawl pattern in the Shawl Relay event. Her shawl is gorgeous. I am super excited.
On the adoption scene, we started the process for getting the medical/physical paperwork done. Physicals today...blood work to be done Monday. I spent the evening filling out paperwork for the home study and the agency application and I'm still not done. None of what we did for China is relevant for Russia. Even the home study autobiographies are a different format with different questions. C signed off on a bunch of stuff tonight...all he really has to do is the autobiography on Saturday.
