Waiting therapy

Monday I popped into Babies R Us to check on the crib/nursery set I am thinking of getting. It is a very popular set, so I expect it to stick around, but I still check every now and then to make sure it isn't discontinued. We don't know if we will need one set or two and I'd like to at least wait until we get through the Review Room in China (and get final approval from the Chinese govt to adopt) before I go spending big bucks on the room. Here is the set I'm looking at...these are photos folks have posted using the set...our room has light/medium green walls that I think will match the green in the set quite well. We will be using dark furniture.

Here is a photo of the set close up...what I like about it is that even though the set has plenty of pink, it isn't too frilly and the ladybugs are red. Most of the ladybug items friends and family have given me are red.
The green matches our room without the whole thing being too green (since we already have green walls), and the blanket that comes with the set has some Minky fabric and plush fabric in it...it is very interesting texturally and I think the bright red and black ladybugs and flowers will be interesting and stimulating to our girl, who will probably be around a year old when we bring her home. Users also rate it high on durability, saying the blanket stands up well to washing. We probably won't do the mobile or the sheer drapes with ladybugs... and there are some framed items for the walls that go with this set as well.
For those of you who don't know...ladybugs are considered lucky in the Chinese adoption community. So this set is perfect in several different ways.
So anyway, of course I had to walk through the clothing section to get to the crib sets, and there I saw a whole display of mix and match ladybug items. How could I not get those?

And most of the summer stuff was 25% off, so since it is a good bet she will be able to wear short sleeves most of the year with a sweater when it is chilly, (although who really knows where we will be living in two years) I picked up some other items as well:

Yes, my girl will be wearing lots of dresses....at least while I can still dress her.

And this soft little sweater was a steal at $5...it had something one it that came right out with a quick handwash:

I'm still buying in the 18 month size, but a few of these items are 12 month. I don't want to go below 12 month, though, until we have our referral and know more about our daughter.

I no longer get teary eyed in Babies R Us, but I am still not taking it all for granted. Part of me still can't get over the fact that I am buying baby things for myself/my daughter and not as a gift for someone else.
