I just opened the MS Word program that came installed on my new computer and holy crap, this version feels very different from what I am used to. I realize it's been a while since I worked, but it took me more than a minute to figure out how to save my document and now I'm feeling really out of touch....
On the knitting front, I still need to soak and block my Yosemite swatch. I did knit some simple fingerlass mitts for my mom last weekend. It was a short project...just took a few hours. I went out to my parents to visit with one of my cousins on my mom's side, but I completely forgot my camera. I forgot my camera Easter weekend, too. This is highly unusual behavior for me.
I've made decent progress on a toddler dress. I'll take photos later. And I started a new sock for Fiber Fest so that I would have something small and simple to work on...and I used yarn I had previously purchased from one of the vendors, Lone Star Arts. I enjoyed Fiber Fest a lot. It's my first fiber festival and while it is a relatively new festival with no where near the vendor count of festivals like Rhinebeck, there were a lot of vendors and I loved seeing the different offerings. Lots of homespun and hand dyed yarns. I was relatively good to the bank account...could have been worse, could have been bettter. I will get up and photograph my stash additions in a minute. I wanted to take a sweater construction class on Sunday from the Knitting Fairy, but I decided to go see my cousin instead, since they had driven all the way up from Houston for just two days.
In the meantime, here are some socks I made over the last few months for Children in Common. They are all made from wool that was donated to Newborns in Need that we cannot use for the babies in the hospitals. The Russian orphanges prefer wool and other natural fibers for warmth.
