Sigh

So I pulled the Victorian Ruby scarf out of time out this week. I want to knit lace...but I want to finish this project before starting another one....or at least, I wanted to get to the TV knitting portion of this scarf before starting another intense lace project.

So I frogged back to the lifeline in the middle of the first edge, reknit it, did the bind off again with much more success, using the recommended bind off in the VLT book, picked up stitches along the edge, and started the middle section, which is an easy drop stitch pattern that moves along at a good pace.

Then today I pulled it out to show a friend, laid it flat on a table, and immediately saw a problem.

On the left of the white life line...that is stockinette lace. On the right side, that is garter lace. I don't know what I was doing last year when I first started this, but apparently I was not purling the odd rows. When I frogged back and reknit it, I did it the correct way.

I could rip halfway back again and redo the stockinette in garter lace, but the stockinette lace looks so much better that I know in my heart I will not be happy if I don't send it all to the frog pond and start over from the beginning.

Sigh.

In other knitting news...remember this cute little toddler dress?

Finishing this was going to be my reward for finishing the back of C's sweater. Only when I went to work on the front of this pretty little dress, I couldn't find the rest of the yarn. I don't know where it walked off to, but it isn't in the basket with the dress and the pattern.

So I put it aside and hopefully those two balls will show up someday. In the meantime, I cast on again in pink Cotton Tots. It is going very well. I am knitting front and back simultaneously, but not in the round. i'm not really sure why am not knitting it in the round except that I think seams will help with stability. I'm not sure why I think I need stability in something like this, but it is what it is now and there really won't be much seaming when I am done.
