Things to do. Places to go. People to see.

So Christmas is over...for us, anyway. Saturday I picked my oldest brother (Rudy) up at the airport and brought him to my parents. Corey came out Sunday morning. Gary (my youngest brother) and his kids came Sunday night. Brenda stayed at their house with her parents who had just driven up from south Texas. The kids were a lot of fun. Peter and Abigail are sick, though. I was able to avoid getting terribly close to Peter most of the time, but I did have to wipe his nose a few times (quickly followed by handwashing) and I held Abigial a lot, feeding her and changing diapers....she is normally a snuggly girl, liking to be held, and I think she was even more clingy since she wasn't feeling well.

It's funny, though. She is all about me since I take care of her and hold her, but she isn't too sure about my name. Mom was trying to teach her that I am Aunt Sherilyn and I don't think she quite has it, although she is very clear on who Grandpa and Grandmom are. :D

So Gary left with his kids last night after a marathon game of four person Parcheesi. Rachel had to leave mid-game, which made her sad, but she got presents this morning, so I am sure she's perked up. We finally managed to finish the Parcheesi with three people. I don't know how a four person game is ever supposed to end!

Corey went home early this morning to go into the office. I am on a slightly more leisurely schedule. I am waiting for the parents and Rudy to get home from church so I can say good bye and then I need to drop off Gary's forgotten toiletry kit on the way home. And I need to send out the NIN newsletter this afternoon..and I need to unpack and pack again because we are going to Vegas tonight at 6!

Yes, I am spoiled. We are going to Vegas to see Van Halen in concert Friday night. I am SO excited. My husband totally spoils me....he knew I am dying to see them and bought these tickets months ago. We will also see Mystere and La Reve while there and his sister and her fiancee have decided to meet us out there.

So I'd better run. I need to sew a button on the Tudora I knit for Rudy's wife and wrap it for him to take home, then I need to hit the road....

Oh, I ended up in fifth place in the fantasy football league. Last week I lost...had a horrible week. So this week I played for fifth place and had a terrific week...why couldn't these guys play this well a week ago? Rudy has dominated the league all year, but he lost in a heartbreaking display of Purple Jesus NOT walking on water Sunday night. As the game wound down, we were all watching as Adrian sat on the bench all night frustrating Rudy to no end because all he needed was a few points and if Adrian would have just run the ball some more, he could have gotten them. On the last play of the game that mattered, they faked it to Adrian and as we all said "oh no!", the QB ran it in, ending Rudy's hopes of the 3.18 points or so he needed to win his game. So he plays for third place next week.

Okay, really going now. Things to do, places to go, people to see.
