Jane Austen, football, hibernation and publication

You are Elinor Dashwood of Sense & Sensibility! You are practical, circumspect, and discreet. Though you are tremendously sensible and allow your head to rule, you have a deep, emotional side that few people often see.

I am Elinor Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

I love Jane Austen books. I've read all of them that I can find...some more than once...I should probably read them again. or at least find audio versions I can listen to while knitting.

I've been doing okay with my fantasy football team, but I'm still not sure I'm going to make it into the playoffs. I'm #5 right now...but there are 5 of us going into this weekend with the same record (6-7), so once the game is over tonight, we'll see where I fall out. I need 27.15 points out of Brees and Roddy White tonight to win my match-up this weekend.

I've been hibernating...spent the weekend puttering around the house and knitting. I've finished one of Rudy's gloves and am about halfway through the second one.

My downstream secret pal finally received her final package. I sent it a bit late because I was waiting on some Socks That Rock. She specifically requested some and I waited too long to order it. I also had to get some for myself. I mean, really, was I supposed to order just ONE skein of yarn? I already have some in Sunstone that I got in a trade, but I added a couple more to my stash.

My downstream secret pal is in Berlin, and is a very talented knitter and has done some really beautiful colorwork. I was quite intimidated when I received my assignment, but she is very nice and I enjoy her blog. I knit her a pair of black, white, and red mosaic mitts that I forgot to photograph before sending. She has published patterns in on-line magazines and now has a pattern for sale on-line as well. I am so NOT a pattern-writer. I can follow a pattern well, but I don't stray from the tried and true much.

Here are a few of her patterns:

Tiffany

Snicket socks

Timon

her most recent Knitty pattern, Laughing Carrots

and a pretty lace scarf...she said in her questionnaire a few months ago that she is new to lace knitting. And she already has a pattern out. Impressive! Once it is available, I plan to order it all the way from England.

Oh, wanna see my new Socks That Rock yarn? On the left, Rose Quartz colorway...on the right, Loch Ness.

I did that quiz a while back and I was Elinor Dashwood, too. Of all of Jane Austen's books, I've only finished Pride and Prejudice. I wish I had the energy to read like I used to.
