I've lost my sock mojo. In Hawaii I started the Monkeys, frogged the Monkeys, started a simple pattern that did not require following a chart, ripped that, then started the Monkeys again. That didn't faze me too much. A couple of small visits to the frog pond. No biggie.
Then I knitted on the Monkeys to and from Orlando. Didn't get any knitting done while I was there. Got home, one Monkey almost done, about to start the toe, in fact... tried it on, and it was a bit too tight going ov er the heel. So I ripped it. Sigh.
Decided to put that yarn aside and get out the only Socks That Rock I have...in the Sunstone colorway. Started the Clementine pattern from Socktopia. It called for 7 stitches per inch, so I did it on 3's. 3 inches into the sock, realized it was way too big. Ribbit. Started on 2's, seemed to be going okay, made lots of progress. Wasn't crazy about the heel, but kept going, wasn't paying attention while watching a movie last night and decreased the gusset too much (by ten stitches!), decided I wasn't happy with the whole thing anyway, so ribbit, ribbit, again.
Sigh. I think I am off socks for a while.
I'm really struggling with DH's sweater. I've read on Ravelry where KP Andean Silk may not be the best choice for Lucky...it may stretch out too much. And anyone who has knit a sweater at all in it talks about how warm it is. If it is super warm, DH really won't wear it.
So I am thinking about going back to the Elsebeth Lavold Silky Tweed I originally bought for his sweater. I saw a photo on Ravelry where someone is doing Leo in it. Looks good.
I am really feeling like doing some small gauge knitting right now, but with my sock mojo gone, I think I amy turn to the Dale of Norway butterfly dress pattern I bought the yarn for a few months ago. It may be just what i need.
