I picked up Pennington for today, since Buffalo has a terrible defense. We'll see if that gamble pays off. Brees is on a bye and DelHomme is out with an injury. I dropped DelHomme to do it and held onto Brees. I guess I still have a week or two left of hope, but if Brees doesn't get in gear next week, I'm going to be in the market for another QB. Unfortunately, there isn't much left to be picked up since each team usually holds two QB's.
I'm playing Fitzgerald, Curtis (Philly WR), Ward, Brown (Miami RB), Heap, Stover, and the Pittsburg defense. I came really close to trying out Brian Leonard at running back, since he will be starting today in place of the injured Steven Jackson, but I wasn't ready to drop any of the other players I have and don't have unlimited room on my roster.
On paper, it doesn't look good for me this week...my opponent is my cousin Denny, who has a good team and is ighly ranked in the league. But "on any given Sunday".....hope reigns supreme.
I've been doing some knitting, but not for me. Right now I am knitting a pair of size 11 black wool socks to be sent to Afghanistan. Apparently soldiers there are freezing their tails off. With as much money as we've thrown at this war, you'd think we could buy these guys warm socks and gaiters, but apparently not. Don't even get me started.
C is still gone. He should be in Singapore by now.
