I just had the most frustrating sweater discussion with Corey. I'm ready to swatch and get going on sweater attempt #2 with the new yarn and I showed him on-line photos of 6 or 7 sweaters. What I want is an "I like that...do that one!" response. What I got is, "That's nice." "That one's nice, too." "So's that one."
:banghead:
He did rule out two that he didn't like that I didn't think he would like because they were a little "young" for him. But he had a hard time picking between two Knitty sweaters that aren't even close.
Cheesypuffs and
Leo. I think we finally decided on
Lucky. He kept wanting ME to pick, but what is most important is whether or not he will WEAR this, so I didn't want to decide on my own. Lucky has a pattern that will hopefully be interesting enough not to put me to sleep, but yet easy enough that I can do it while watching TV or picking it up and putting it down in airports.
I really like the
Ultimate Gift Pullover (warning, it's a .pdf file), but the yarn I have is worsted weight and in any case, at 7 stitches per inch, that would probably take me FOREVER to do.

In other news, my friend Heidi from Canada stayed the night Friday night. She managed to time her arrival perfectly, after the tornado and baseball sized hail had moved thorugh the area, so we went to dinner and Billy Bob's, even if we were later than originally scheduled. She was in her element at Billy Bob's, being a huge C&W fan. Marty gave her the grand tour and Corey and I tagged along while they discussed artists. Then we all hung out in Marty's office for a while until Corey was falling asleep from getting up so early for work.

I'll take "Leo". Ohhhh...you mean which pattern do we like the most, not which fella? :)
Well, then I think the one Corey picked will look great. And Heidi: looks like ya'll showed her a might fine time at her "mecca".
Hi Sherilyn,
I just stumbled onto your blog. My DH and I live in Houston, and used GWCA in 2004 to bring our amazing daughter home from Changsha, Hunan. I was really surprised to see an entry related to Chinese adoption on your blog, as I was actually surfing knitting blogs when I stumbled onto yours!
If you have any questions or need an ear through the process, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
I have a great friend from college who lives in DFW and they are waiting for their referral in hopefully the next batch... she is also an avid knitter. I'd be happy to introduce you, too! Anyway, just wanted to say "hi"!
