Stuff

Got a nice little package from my friend Jean, who learned beading from her daughter Liz. She makes these awesome knit-i-cuses, used to count rows in knitting. She was nice enough to send me her experiments and I love them! These are great for knitting lace socks where there are lots of rows in each repeat to keep track of.

Speaking of lace socks, I've made some good progress on the orange lace socks. Don't have a photo, though.

Had a great time at my scrapping retreat. Got quite a bit done on Spain, bought lots of paper. Found out that I am not the only one experiencing problems with recent Xyron refills not creating sticky enough letters. Really enjoyed seeing my friends, some for the first time, some for the second time. Getting there was a challenge, as my flight from Newark to Dulles was delayed three hours and I hadn't gotten any sleep the night before I left (went to bed at 3:30, was still awake at 5am then the alarm went off). I did manage to snooze for an hour in the airport. Some photos from that trip:

Me with Tracey. We first met on-line some 9 years ago and then met in real life at a Creative Memories convention in 2000, I think. She owns the message board I post on the most and lives in central Florida. She;s awesome. :D

Apple martinis! Erin lives in Virginia and was gracious enough to host us out-of-staters. From left, me, Tricia (a local gal), Stacie and Amy (from WI and MN), Tracey, and Cheryl, another local gal. Erin's hubby was a dedicated and talented bartender. Amy and Stacie were my closest tablemates at the retreat and kept me in stitches.
Erin, the hostess with the mostest, working on her Hawaii album.

There were 45 of us there, I think. One of my tablemates had to cancel at the last minute because her hubby needed surgery. Missed you, Eve! I'm off near the far right corner, sitting at Erin's table heisting her computer while she was taking this photo!
The very sweet and very willowy Melanie, making me feel both old and dumpy, LOL!

My Sweetheart Socks for February Socktopia. Started these when Daddy had his heart catheterization. Finished these on the way to the retreat in Cheryl's van. Yarn is KnitPicks Essential in Petunia. Pattern is here.

My ladybug, given to me by Ginger, which made me smile all weekend. I'll talk about the why's and what for's of that tomorrow. :-)

The bartender says you're welcome to come back anytime! He's also willing to experiment on his "recipe" for destruction, LOL. And, of course, the kids are waiting for your return.
