Stash Enhancement

The LYS had an end-of-year sale today, so of course I had to go check it out. Resistance is futile....besides, I broke one of my #2 bamboo dpns on the Pensacola trip. First time I've ever snapped a needle. I was doing a picot cast on with worsted weight yarn, using a needle 3 sizes smaller as recommended and broke my first needle. I feel like I've passed some sort of initiation rite....
On the left are two small skeins, enough for two pairs of fingerless gloves. The teal is beautiful heathered color. Divine. Gedifra Airmix 62% merino, 30% cotton, 8% polyamide. The purple is Classic Yarns Cashsoft 4 ply 57 % merino, 33% microfiber, 10% cashmere. Very soft.
The bag is Laines du Nord in a great coral color. I bought a bag of pink at the sale last year and liked it, so when I saw this color I decided it would be a good basic stash color.
And the two big hanks? Oh, man, the yarn ho in me doesn't want to let them out of my sight. Schaefer Handpainted Miss Priss in the Renata Tebaldi colorway. It took me forever to pick the colorway I wanted. Almost went with Elena Piscopia and fondled the Mary Breckinridge for a while. It was tough. But the Renata has brown blending into deep eggplant and fuscia. I think it will look good with either a black or brown jacket. I'm going to make a scarf and if I have any left over, an earwarmer headband. Finding the right scarf pattern is going to be a challenge. I'm anxious to get started....
And here's the tag on Renata Tibaldi (1922-2004)...
"Renata Tibaldi, or "Angel Voice," as Arturo Toscanini called her, was an Italian soprano known for the beauty and purity of her voice and for her elegance on stage. She debuted at La Scala when it reopened in 1946 after WWII and made her American debut in 1954 as Aida in San Francisco, followed by many years at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, performing La Boheme, Madame Butterfly, Tosca, Otello, and La Traviata, among other operatic favorites. Thanks to modern technology, you can see and hear Tebaldi sing on various websites and still find her many recordings available."
