Okay, so I lied

I didn't go to my parents' tonight. We aren't leaving until late-morning, so I'll leave tomorrow after rush hour dies down.

I did do the NIN delivery, followed by lunch at Ojeda's (Mexican, yum!) with my friends and then we went back to Dottie's to play for a couple of hours, counting blankets for the Christmas bags we give away at the hospital and then laying out a few quilts.

Then it was off to the mall where I picked up my Secret Santa gift for my scrapping board and also did some Christmas shopping. I'll be able to take some Christmas with me to my brother's. I'll have to mail his and John Robert's gifts later, but I got Mary Ann and the girls taken care of.

So tonight I've been watching football, wrapping presents, and figuring out what to take this week. Have I packed any clothes yet? Nope. Have I figured out my travelling yarn stash? You bet!

I have a sock in progress that I will take, a simple brainless garter rib from the Sensational Knit book. The yarn is so busy I wanted a simple pattern. I don't plan to work on it much on this trip, but it is great TV knitting. I have a couple other projects to work on in the car when my full attention can be given for many hours. Haven't yet ordered the new yarn for Corey's sweater, but we did get it narrowed down this weekend to the olive green color. Otherwise, this would be a great time to work on that. I have two photos of the sock in progress. One that isn't blurry and one that shows the truer color, without the flash. No natural daylight at the moment. I'm doing these at the same time on one 32" circular needle, using the magic loop method. It works great, but I did have to get creative with dpns to pick up the gusset. I'm about to order some 24" dpns from Knit Picks to do 2 on 2 socks (2 socks on 2 circulars, doing both socks at once using both needles for both socks). I haven't tried that method yet, but I think I'll like it.

And in all of that, found time to finish my scarf and my border for the exchange. I love it, especially the dragonflies. I just went out to get the mail and the box was on my porch. So, here I sit in my office chair, in my pajama's still with my Amethyst colored Chenille Scarf around my neck and shoulders. I'm telling you - it's a little taste of heaven on earth.

Now, I am off for a nap, but taking my cozy little scarf with me. Fayne's office is always so COLD! Brrr.....
