Luxembourg it is!

I just booked our hotel for the Luxembourg portion of our trip. The first two nights we will be in Belgium near the Dutch town of Maastricht for Corey's business. He has a meeting Tuesday and possibly a dinner Wednesday night along with a major conference call with his office back here in the States, so Wednesday during the day we may drive down to Liege for sightseeing. We will be driving down through Liege to get to Luxembourg, but there are a couple of caves I'd like to see and some scenic driving, apparently, so if we can see the sights in the large town of Liege Wednesday, that would be ideal.

I found a highly rated hotel in the "Little Switzerland" area of Luxembourg in a tiny little town, population 500 or so. We decided not to stay in Luxembourg City and just do it as a day trip for a couple of reasons...not the least of which is the fact that we will have a car and past experience driving in major European cities has taught us not to do it much if we don't have to. I'm good with a map, but the Europeans don't do signage the same way we do and it takes some serious getting used to. We drove the entire loop around Brussels three times one afternoon trying to find how to get to the exit we needed. And don't even get me started on finding the hotel in Nice.

Now I just need to find a hotel near the airport for our last night, the one in Brussels. At least I don't have to book the hotel in Lanaken for our first two nights....the company is doing that.

oh, BTW, have I mentioned that we are flying out on September 11th?
