I scratched the lace itch by casting on for the Hanami Stole. Since I may not have enough yardage for the full asymmetrical version, I am going to work the lattice part only and knit until I run out of yarn. I have also decided to do Calorimetries for the orphanage workers as part of our gifts. I finished one today...they are a very quick knit. I'm using Patons SWS from my stash for those.Tuesday, August 04, 2009
Does anyone I know speak Uzbek?
Language difficulties are causing us to wait on pins and needles. The US/Uzbek embassy is apparently involved. My agency has apparently found the correct official to assist with the document, but nobody can speak to each other. We don't know if we are going this weekend or not. If we don't, we will apparently have to wait until mid-September because the judge is going on vacation for three weeks. I don't have a lot of hope that this is going to get fixed in the next two days. In the meantime, our baby girl is more than 6,000 miles away and there is nothing we can do about it. Pardon me if I am a bit out of sorts. I have asked for an update on her...maybe tomorrow we will get that. Or maybe not. I refuse to get my hopes up about anything at this point. I'm sort of numb.

I'm thinking about you, C, and little N every day. I wish that I was fluent in Uzbek.
I miss seeing you.
Love,
Marge
Can you contact a college that may have a department that could help you with the Uzbek.
Hugs, Girl...
Do you mean the U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan or vice versa? If it's the U.S. Embassy, surely they have a list of qualified translators.
If it's the Uzbek Embassy to the U.S., I know a person who runs a translation service in the D.C. area. Perhaps she can be of some help??
Forgot to say that the items you are making for the orphanage workers look like a great gift.
you are such a sweet heart. i wish i could more than pray. but if that is all, i sure am doing it! (((((hugs)))))
