And we have a nursery

Mostly.

With the help of a drill and a really big drill bit, we got the crib together. The dowel peg holes on the front of the crib were not big enough and I was not about to haul this front in again and wait for a replacement, so I drilled the holes bigger and with some coercion with a big mallet, it all went together. Then we started putting the bedding together, which was a comedy in itself. We put the mattress in and then put the sheet on it...we may be getting a child who can pull himself up, so we have the bed on the lowest setting right now. Changing the sheets on that setting will be a challenge for me and my short arms. If our son is not too mobile when we bring him home, we will move it up a bit. Then we put the bumper in. Got it mostly tied all the way around and then I realized it was inside out and the animals were facing outwards. Untied...repositioned...retied. Then I pulled out the dust ruffle and started laughing. Yeah, I should have pulled it all out and looked at it before we started. we had to pull the mattress out past the crib bumper and put the ruffle down...but on the lowest setting, the ruffle drags the floor, so it took a little positioning to get it so that it doesn't look haphazard. Then we pushed the mattress past the crib bumper, back down into position.
I hope we do a better job at parenting than we did at putting the bedding together.

I hung the quilt above the crib today...it will do for wall decor for the time being. I tried quilt hangers from JoAnn's, but those had me homicidal after a few minutes, so I hand-basted a rod pocket on the back and went out and bought a dowel rod and sawed a few inches off of it and now it all works.

We also got the bathroom stuff up.

I'm about to eat a sandwich and then stage our various rooms for photos. I don't have time to clean as much as I'd like, so it's an exercise in moving some things around to get them out of photos. This is a photo I won't be sending to the Russians!

One thing you might not realize you'll need is a dresser. It seems like you won't, but you will, so think about getting one sooner rather than later so you can find a match. I realize I may not be able to see one in these photos either.

Love the shelves.Did wonders! that won't be a play room for the kids anyway!
