yes, I have been knitting

Like a maniac, actually. I've also been sewing...I think I've done 10-12 quilt tops for NIN in the last week or so. I don't like the actual quilting part...but I do like piecing the tops, so those will go to the work meeting this Saturday and at Thursday meetings in August we will assemble them into quilt sandwiches to be finished by women who like the quilting part.

On the knitting front, I started and finished the Sunday Market Shawl, which was totally easy and a no-brainer knit. I'll wait until it is blocked to post photos, cuz it really doesn't look like much now. My Woodland Shawl is going to be blocked here in a few minutes. It is soaking in water right now. This will be my first try at blocking with wires. I hope it all goes as easy as I hope.

I also finished one of the socks from hell "Hawaii" socks, with the blue and yellow yarn...and have turned the heel on the second one already. But I don't have photos of that yet. The more I knit with that yarn, the more it grows on me. The colors are very bright with lots of contrast.

I'm about halfway done with the sleeves on C's sweater and when I finish them, I will be done with all the pieces and will be able to start assembly. I haven't let on to him how close I am to finishing. I want to surprise him with it. I don't know, though, if I can finish it and then hold it until our actual anniversary in September. This was supposed to be his 10th anniversary gift, so I thought it would be funny to give it to him on our 12th.

So, what do I have photos of? Well, one project I can't share yet, as it is a gift the recipient hasn't received yet. Maybe tomorrow I will take some photos of stuff to share.

but rest assured, I have been knitting...
