Motivation

So tomorrow morning my middle brother and his son are flying to Canada with a group of Robert's work associates for some sort of fishing thing. They drove over from Florida to leave together with the rest of the group and are at Mom and Dad's. The flight is at 7:50am, so I offered my guest room to them and volunteered to drive them to the airport since we live a whopping 15 minutes away. I'm happy to have them...always enjoy seeing my family. Looking forward to cooking dinner for them tonight. Thing is, I'm not so motivatied right now to get this place ready for them.

The guest room is ready...as is the attached bath...except that I have a couple of projects blocking on the bed (they are dry and can be moved now) and the dresser in there is covered with piles of knit for NIN that I washed and now need to fold up and take to a meeting for cutting.

The kitchen is relatively clean although the floor needs sweeping and mopping. I hate doing floors. Seriously. I have no problems with cleaning bathrooms or doing dishes or making beds. But floors? Floors I don't like. It isn't even that hard...I have a Swiffer vac and a Swiffer wet jet and the whole process goes quickly. I still hate it. And I need to vacuum the LR rug....vacuuming is another floor-related task I hate doing. I can't put my finger on why I hate cleaning the floors so much, but I do, and I know that when we have kids that will be the single biggest housekeeping change...I'll have to suck it up and clean the floors all the time. Right now, with just the two of us, I can go a long time before they need cleaning (and then I usually go a bit past that, LOL!) I have to wear shoes now most of the time now indoors, which means I end up ignoring the floors for longer periods of time.

The living room is fairly clean...I just have yarn and yarn-related items all over the place. I was doing good for a while, but the tribbles have piled up again and I need to pack it all up and send it to My Room. Actually to My Closet...as the room is workable right now and there isn't any extra table space for yarn. My Closet is...well, let's just say a lot of stuff got quite literally tossed into the closet while cleaning the room.

I still need to find buttons for the baby jacket I did and get it in the mail...and I need to finish the mittens for Jean's Mittenalong. This last weekend was an NIN weekend. I was on my feet all day Thursday at the usual Thursday meeting, rested them a little Friday but had errands to run, was on my feet all day Saturday at the monthly meeting, rested them some Sunday but spent much of the evening cutting fabric (standing), was on my feet yesterday during the hospital delivery, and my feet are feeling it. With my orthotics, my feet have been much better...but weeks like this when I am on them a lot means flare-ups. I guess I need to take some ibuprofen to calm down all the inflammation...
