Yesterday my friend Marge asked me how I decide what to work on since I have so many projects OTN. The answer is...I work on what I feel like at any particular time. And there are other mitigating factors as well.

Right now I am sort of obsessed with my Victorian Ruby scarf, but I know that will die down because I have finished one of the borders and am about to start the long boring center panel. It won't be too boring though, as I love this yarn and seeing the way it is developing in my pattern. I was hesitant to use a variegated yarn, but I think this pattern is simple enough that it works and the center panel is REALLY simple.

However, I couldn't work on VR in the car on the way to my parents' house this weekend because I was having to read a chart while I worked, and no amount of Bonine will allow me to read a chart in a car. So I worked on my very portable Victorian Lace socks from the
Six Sox KAL. I took this photo last week before I turned the heel. This sock is now finished and I am on sock #2. I usually knit socks in tandem, but I'm doing these with magic loop and didn't want them both on at the same time since that affects portability. I'd like to finish these in time to submit for June
Socktopia, but we'll see. I don't seem to be very good at starting and finishing socks in the same month.
That's the other motivating factor. Deadlines.

Corey's sweater has been languishing but I measured him Monday night and it looks like I am ready to start the armhole shaping on the front of his sweater, which looks a lot like this right now only a bit longer. So far it has been a brainless knit...the decreases for the armholes will add more thought into the process.
The moebius scarf is in limbo. I am undecided on how much wider to make it and it isn't a decision I have to make anytime soon. I also have another pair of socks OTN, but I started those in late May, so they don't qualify for June Socktopia. They are a very easy knit, even easier than the Victorian Lace socks, and I'll get back to them at some point.
I got my black Zephyr on Monday for the
Mystery Stole 3 KAL. I need to swatch that this week and figure out what size needles to use. I also received some 100% baby alpaca lace weight in a tan color and holy crap, that stuff is soft. Softer than the cashmere/silk I am using for Victorian Ruby.
Went fishing with Daddy on Father's Day. Got up at 5 and hit the lake early. It was nice. That's twice I've been fishing this summer...we really got out of the habit of going down to the lake with Dad and I should really go more often. It's nice out there. Only got eaten alive while cleaning the fish...there weren't any bugs bothering us on the lake. Corey and I got four nice sized Hybrid bass between the two of us...smallest one was 19 inches. Need to have some for dinner tonight!
