Obsession

There needs to be a twelve step program for this book:

I am completely addicted. With the Mystery Stole KAL I just joined, I need another big lace project like I need a hole in the head, but I don't think I am going to be at peace until I cast on for something in this book.
I bought this yesterday at the LYS, forgot to eat dinner because I was so enthralled (Corey had a work dinner), and was up very late last night drooling over the patterns and starting a lace-weight stash on-line. This photo:
makes me want to knit the shawl, buy a ballgown, and run around my yard.

I'm serious.

I love this shawl, too, in both its book incarnations (yes, it is the same pattern, knit with different behaving yarn and different borders):

Of course, it would help if I looked like any of these models or had any of their clothes.

I do have some grey Silky Tweed that I have leftover from my first attempt at Corey's sweater, and it feels divine. I have tons of it, too. So I am going to cast-on for this shetland shawl tonight. The pattern is simple enough that hopefully it will look good in a tweed. I'll treat the cast-on as a swatch since you knit the center panel, then add the border later. It will turn out bigger than the book sample and should make a good sized warm wrap.

And I am in love with this coppery yarn...the color, the texture...it's beautiful. Must get some.
My photo of the photo doesn't do it justice at all.

I could look at that book for hours. I just love it. There's a scarf in there that I think I'm going to start with. I'm not so sure about all the ones with the corners, so I'm going to start with one that's just straight up and down knitting.

Your yarn up there is GORGEOUS! I bet it's super scrumptious soft.
