Five on Friday

I've been sorting through toys on the back porch, making sure they are insulation-free before returning them to the house, but the ridiculous temperatures we've been having are making it slow work. I think we are on day 29 or so of 100+ degrees here and I'm over it. This heat was a lot easier to take when I had a desk job.

Somebody got some new books for her birthday and she is loving them. We went through quite a time with the guy we got the stain our fence for us. First he used the wrong color and gave us a reddish/pink fence, then they stripped it down and did it again with the correct medium golden brown color but didn't do the bottom part properly, and in the end they dripped stain on our driveway and didn't clean the over-spray off the fence poles, but we were over them in a big, huge, massive way, so we just paid them and they went away. Got the hole in our ceiling fixed by someone else, the roof with its new attic cooling system is completely installed now, and we are enjoying the boredom of not having to deal with contractor drama.
Somebody has also discovered computer games. It was one of her rewards for potty training and she is getting quite good with the touch pad mouse. She even got the hang this morning of clicking and holding down the button ith one finger while dragging something with the other finger. I was impressed. One of these days I'll break out a separate mouse for her to try. I'm actually quite impressed by some of the things she is able to do in her games. Such a bright little girl!
There has been some knitting and some crochet and one of these days I'll post photos. This is my Triple S Shawl in progress. Love it. It's going to be gorgeous.
