It's 4 am here in Germany and I am heading to bed. We need to be up by 11 to catch our 2pm or so flight. We are connecting in Chicago on the way home. Unless C gets up early and finds the American desk and sees about getting us on an earlier, direct flight...although we won't sacrifice good seats for a direct flight. C rarely sleeps for more than a few hours at a time, so chances are good he will at least check into it.
We did finally hear from our doctor tonight. He said he was swamped with the swine flu. Pardon me, but WTF? Is every parent in North Texas taking their kid to the pediatrician this week? I mean, I know this can be a dangerous virus, but from what we have seen of the news coverage, it seems like folks are getting hysterical. I'm wondering how out of control it is back home. On one of my yahoo groups school closings have been mentioned. Nuts. Your kid is more likely to die while you're driving him to the grocery store with you than from the swine flu. Just sayin'.
Let me just say a big thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments and encouragement. We've loved hearing from you all. We've enjoyed sharing our little journey with you all...we cannot wait to bring her home for good to meet you all! I will hit the ground running Monday to round up some very important paperwork (the paperchase is not over and there is at least one more drive to Austin in my near future...possibly two drives) and we are going to try to get a court date as soon as possible.
And here is a tidbit of interest from the trip. Russians are really into tomato juice. On our afternoon flight from Moscow to Frankfurt, when they made their first pass through the cabin with drinks, the couple in front of us, the three folks across the aisle from us, one person in front of them, two folks behind them, and the woman next to me...all got a glass of tomato juice. We were in row 15 and they had gone through at least 5 cartons by the time they got to us.
Who knew? Plain old tomato juice..not V-8, just 100% tomato.

Safe travels!
And yes, it's kinda ugly back your way with the Pig Flu - and i have a great thread with someone who happens to have worked on this type of stuff in their past life if you want some interesting reading when you get home. :D
::hug::
Silly, it's to mix with the vodka!!!
Can't wait to hear all about it.
Sherilyn, thanks so much to you and C for sharing your journey thus far. I hope that everything goes through quickly for you so that you can soon bring N home.
As for the flu, yep, people are freaking out...it's crazy.
