Disconnected

I've spent the last few days in my sewing room, cutting fabric squares and laying out quilt tops for NIN. C has been sick. His throat was so raw Friday I thought he might have strep, but it got better yesterday and he also has a head cold, so we don't think it is strep...but he's still been miserable. I've been sleeping in the guest room and washing my hands obsessively in an effort to not get this. I also haven't handled the TV remote (it pains me, but one must make sacrifices) or the laptop for a few days, letting them be part of his contaminated domain. He went off to the office today, though, so I've disinfected and caught up on e-mail and my sites. I don't usually spend much weekend time on the PC, but I've been absolutely disconnected for a couple of days now.

I've been knitting steadily on the sweater and have made good progress on the front of it. It's the only thing I've knit on since last Tuesday when I spent all day knitting this:

It's another Quant. I love knitting these. I'm pretty sure I mentioned before that entrelac is addictive. I'm determined to finish C's sweater soon so that I can start another big project without guilt and that next big one may be a Lady Eleanor.

This Quant is done on size 6 needles with Paton's SWS (Soy Wool Stripes). It's my first knit with this yarn and I like it. I'm glad, because I bought extra in this colorway to do another Quant and matching scarf and gloves. The one above was given away as part of a one skein gift exchange at Knit Night. I received a great little ribbed hat in perfect colors for me...pinks and browns and brownish pinks.

Knit Night. I've always wanted one...now I have one. We meet every Tuesday night at a Borders about 5-10 minutes away from my house. And the ladies in this group are fun and nice. I like them. It's really perfect. I was invited to this group last month through Ravelry...I logged on at a little before 7 on a Tuesday, saw the invite from a member who had seen my post in the Texas Knitters group looking for a knit night, and I was out the door a few minutes later. I've pretty much knit in solitude for the last three years, so it is nice to find a group of fellow knitting addicts so close by.
