News

Finally heard from the social worker. The homestudy is done and she sent it to the adoption agency for approval. Why couldn't she have told me this before? or did she just finish and send it today?

I wish we'd seen the final version she sent to make sure it is correct, since there were so many errors in the first one. But I guess we'll get a copy eventually and then we can send off our I-600-A and also send packets of our notarized docs to get certified at the state level.

I got the marriage certificates today. Now I just need to write the application letter to CCAA and get that notarized. It has to be "from the heart" and individualized, but also has to have several required statements in it, like why we chose China, that our daughter will have all the rights and opportunities of a birth child, that we promise not to abandon or abuse her, that we will provide her the best education possible, etc.

This is our chance to promote ourselves to the CCAA.

No pressure. No pressure at all.

Great news! I'm glad you finally heard from her. And you'll do great with the pressure - they'll love you.

Hey, sherilyn! Just catching up on my computer time and see that you guys are adopting. Congratulations and all my love and prayers go to you both, and of course, your future daughter in China - because you know you will be approved; you're such good people!
