So this morning N debuted in her budding fashion model career. Being two years old, there was less stage direction and more wrangling going on, but she did pretty well at the first pro photo shoot. A knitterly friend of mine, the Knitting Fairy, is married to Brad, who is a photographer here in the DFW area and he did a really great job with N. He has a really great studio with lots of backdrops and between his props and some things I brought along, there was a lot of variety. She went through 7 outfits. This, my friends, is just one of the reasons I am so glad I chose Brad. Here is a sneak peek of the fashion array. There was a red tutu involved and I paid much more for that bedazzled tank top to go with it than I would like to admit. Thankfully it is a size 2 and she will be able to wear it for quite some time. I'm also thinking the tutu will make another appearance on Oct. 31st.
There was also a dress that I wore when I was little. You can see the embroidered flowers on the sleeve above. I was around 3 or so when I wore it, but when I pulled it out of my hope chest yesterday to wash it, I started worrying that it might be too small already for N. I was immensely relieved this morning when it fit perfectly. I put her in white lace socks and black patent mary janes as well. We are talking classic little girl look here and she looked better in it than I did. :-) Mom can probably verify, but there is a good chance my Granny bought this for me. Granny used to give me several very nice dresses every year. I still remember some of them. One of the photos of me in this dress is with Granny.

Brad scheduled us for two hours and was totally fine with all the changes of clothing. There was a wide variety of colors and styles and he had different backdrops to use for them. His studio and Alissa's knitting studio/yarn shop are part of the same office space (seriously, hooray for them because it is an awesome new set-up), so N had room to run it out and stretch her legs inbetween sets. Alissa stepped in and got her to really perk up toward the end of the shoot when N was getting tired. N always likes to flirt with and perform for new folks. I am so glad I went with Brad and I plan to do so again. C has a hard time believing that pro photos will be any better than the ones I have taken of her, but I think he will be pleasantly surprised when he sees what we got.
I wish I had taken photos of her at the studio with them, but I totally forgot. Now I just need to coordinate schedules with my mom and dad and C so we can go in and pick out which shots we want.

Tutus make daily appearances at my house. I figure the girls are having fun, so I get my money's worth.
Cute dress that you passed down to you little N.
