Sorry for the radio silence

I've been pretty busy.

Right now we are in Los Angeles, visiting C's family. We flew in Thursday and C scheduled our flight during N's nap time, thinking she would nap. Oh, how optimistic my man is! She did not nap, but she did not fuss or cry, either. We had her as a lap child on a very full flight, so she went from his lap to mine and back again. We read books, we drew on the little etch-a-sketch thingy, we watched The Wonder Pets on the portable DVD player my friend Amy loaned us. She ate quite a bit and really enjoyed the turbulence we hit after take-off, entertaining some of the folks around us with her joy at all the ups and downs. My little adrenaline junkie. She was a very good baby, but very tired toward the end and as soon as she got settled into her car seat in Aunt Mindy's van, she went right to sleep.

C is on his way to Japan right now. For a two hour meeting. And then he will fly back here Wednesday. He will spend more time getting to and from than actually there. Craziness. He spent most of the last two days upstairs at my FIL's working and getting ready for his presentation, but we did come over to Mindy and Gene's to grill outside yesterday. It was a bit too cold for N to swim at my FIL's, but hopefully we will be taking her to the beach tomorrow.

C left this morning and N and I moved over here to Mindy and Gene's where we will be until C gets back and we all fly home this Thursday.

N is 22 months now, and full of vim and vigor. Her cousins adore her and Miriam plays with her non-stop. It's very sweet. Miriam (who is 12), has waited a long time not to be the youngest of her cousins and is thrilled with her new baby cousin. She even made her a flap book out of construction paper and markers that she will show N when she awakes from her current nap. I'll have to take photos before N potentially destroys it!

I'd share photos, but this isn't my laptop, so you will just have to imagine until I can get home. One thing we forget that I wish we had brought is the video camera, because watching Miriam and Benjamin play with N is absolutely priceless.

Wow, hope you are having a great time in LA. There is so much to do there. If I still lived there, I'd suggest meeting up for coffee and knits. You should check out my favorite LYS if you have the time. It's called Twist, Yarns of Intrigue in Manhattan Beach (about 10 minutes from LAX). It is unlike any yarn store that you have ever been in. If you go in, tell Cathy "hi" for me.
