Heart attack

So C came home for a few hours to take off my flat tire and take it in to get fixed and he borught in the mail and set it on the counter. I just went through it and saw a big brown envelope from the American Consulate in Guangzhou, China.

WTF?

I nearly had a heart attack...I opened it, fearing some sort of bad news...and since the first word was "congratulations!", I was able to heave a big sigh of relief. I haven't read it all the way thorugh, yet, but it is a long letter acknowledging the fact that they have been notified of my petition to adopt an overseas orphan and giving me a heads up that my petition may expire. Heck, at this rate, it may expire several times before we actually get our referral.

Whew! The long wait is till on...
