We got a Yeoman of the Guard tour this time, which was interesting, and we got in to see the chapel there which is apparently only open to tours, which are free with paid entrance. You just have to get there in time for a tour and not 30 minutes before closing time ala 1998. Yeomans nowadays are retired military men. They used to serve a real guard function at the Tower and there have been Yeomen there for some 700 years.
Some of Henry VIII's armor. Take a good look at it. Yep. Those may have been the first crown jewels under heavy guard at the Tower.
Corey and his buddies, Gin and Beer.
In the Tower shops we saw this horrible little "toy":
It is made out of paper and they were selling kits for it. "Cut out and make this comical executionermodel and his sorry victim. You can decide if the poor man gets spared." Ummmm, okay. Should I have bought them for all the nieces and nephews on my Christmas and Hannukah lists?
Tomorrow, Westminster, with a suprising recent addition that has U.S. ties.

If the kids on your shopping list are school age, that would have been a hit of a gift. We just finished up a unit on Medieval Times and these kids (kg-5th) were all into devices of torture. Oh my! Yikes!
Great pics! I can actually see that kids would love that toy ;)
