Merry Christmas

If this is your holiday of choice, I hope it is a merry one. We are headed to my parents' today, where N will receive even more presents. She's not going to know what to think when she isn't getting a gift every few days.

I haven't been good about blogging, obviously, but here area few photos from our month:

N was pretty into the dreidel spinning and candle lighting this year. I have some video of us spinning dreidels.

N doesn't spin so much, but she gets the general idea. Daddy is the master dreidel spinner of the house.
He also lights the candles each night.
We went to the Dallas zoo, which has a good children's area. N enjoyed feeding the goats.
Then she got to go inside with us and pet them.
But by the end of our trip there, she was more interested in climbing rocks than seeing animals.
We did latkes for two nights in a row. Love latkes. N likes them, too. I'm working on my technique, but when you only make them once a year, progress goes pretty slow.
N moved into a booster seat this month.
And we did the full eight days of presents.
Me: What do you say?
N: Please!
Me: What do you say when someone gives you a present?
N: More present, please!
She actually does have really good manners and likes to copy me a lot. She will very politely tell you "no, thank you" when you ask her to do something or eat something she doesn't want. We're working on the concept of some things being requests and others not being negotiable.

Here she is eating an "apple present" from Aunt Sue and Uncle Rudy.
We went to see the "Thomas train" exhibit at Northpark. Not that it was a Thomas exhibit, but in our house, all trains are Thomas trains.
And the other day I put her hair into her first pony tail. Sigh. She looks so grown up now. She IS so grown up now. She is talking up a storm, loves to sing. Has conversations with us now. Sits in a booster seat, feeds herself very well with a fork or spoon, and has started potty training. After a three-day potty bonanza at the end of November, she took a few weeks off from it, but today we are back in pee pee mode. It may have, ahem, just a little to do with the new pee pee candy she gets when she goes on the potty...a Mickey Mouse fruit chew for each successful potty endeavor. Whatever works.

Have I mentioned how grown-up she looks in her pony tail?
And taking photos has become a bit more challenging now that she has a camera of her own to point back at me.
