17 months

So yesterday N was 17 months old and she has been with us a little more than 2 months.

She has gained a few pounds and grown more than an inch and is in 12 month clothes now, although sometimes I need to roll up the pants.

She knows where her nose is.

She loves to point to things and have us say what they are.

When she hears the garage door at night, she runs to the back door saying "addy, addy, addy". She doesn't point to Daddy when asked to (or Mama), but from day 1 when C would come home I would lead her to the back door saying "Daddy's home!" in a very excited voice. She goes on her own now and Daddy coming home is more or less the highlight of her day.

She's running.

Her bangs are so long they need to be pinned back. I'm trying to grow them out.

She has all her front teeth and all of her first molars except the ones on her lower left side. She self-feeds with her fingers and likes to help hold the spoon. She does a pretty good job of trying to use a spoon herself, but she hasn't mastered actually getting any food on it and then getting that food transferred to her mouth. But she definitely has the idea.

She loves carrots, green beans, peas, chicken, turkey, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, apples, pears, yogurt, swiss cheese, and wheat bread to name a few things.

She likes to give mommy kisses out of the blue.

She's a human vacuum cleaner and brings me little things all the time that she finds on the floor. She also likes to pretend to give me things.

She knows how to ask to get up in my lap. Hands up and "up!" I suppose that qualifies as her first word! She's figuring out "all done" after eating.

She loves to rough house and hang upside down. I see gymnastics lessons in her future.

She visited Grandmom and Grandpa's house for the first time Sunday where she tried out my old rocking chair for the first time and got spoiled rotten by her grandparents, who adore her.
